On this week’s very special episode of 2 Dads 1 Car, we speak with the one and only Brett Colvin, best known as the co-founder and CEO of Goodlawyer, one of Canada’s fastest growing legal talent platforms. Brett is also a newcomer to the fatherhood community as a dad to a two month old son.
In our conversation, Brett and I focus on the early days of fatherhood as well as the untold trials and tribulations of early fatherhood as an entrepreneur. Brett also shares how his relationship with his parents as a child motivated his ambition in business and law, and highlights the importance for parents to allow their children to take risks and be ambitious by supporting them throughout their lives. We dive deep into how Brett’s mom in particular had been a strong role model for Brett’s work ethic. Finally, Brett and I discuss the philosophical aspects of parenthood, and the sense of pride, aspiration, and excitement that goes into being a parent.
