Becoming the Dad Your Kids Deserve with Cameron McCaw
“My dad’s advice to me was always to be a better parent than he was, and that’s what motivates me. I try to be as good as possible so that if my kids want to have kids, they can try to be better than me, which would be beneficial for their children down the line.”
On this week’s episode of 2 Dads 1 Car, we speak with Cameron McCaw, a friend of mine who works as a development officer at the Peter A. Allard School of Law and is a young father to two boys.
Our conversation starts off with a discussion of Cameron’s experience raising two young sons. In particular, Cameron expresses the importance of raising his sons with a healthy understanding of masculinity, especially with the prevalence of social media influencer culture and artificial intelligence playing an impact on childhoods today. Our conversation also centered around the topic of intentionality as a parent, especially as Cameron speaks on his practice of spending one-on-one time with each of his sons before bed, and thoughtfully playing a positive role in fostering the relationship between his sons at an early age. Finally, Cameron and I discuss how our parents and upbringings can inspire us to become better, more resilient and patient parents to our children.
Thanks so much to Cameron for taking the time to speak with us! Please check out our website at 2dads1car.com, and follow us on Instagram @2dads1car for our latest updates. I hope you love this episode!
