The Art of Staying Grounded in Fatherhood with Jason Wong
“You can make it happen if you still choose. It’s also important for you to be able to do your own stuff sometimes and not have kids fully consume your world. I think there’s value in that.”
In this episode of 2 Dads 1 Car, we speak with Jason Wong, a good friend of mine, fellow girl dad, and passionate founder of the Beta Collective, a boutique coworking space in Burnaby.
In our conversation, Jason and I discuss a variety of topics including the consumption of media content, embracing the influence of our children’s peers, and how to help our children develop life skills from early on. Jason also discusses the influence of martial arts and his faith on his philosophy as a parent, including a greater appreciation for life, a healthy relationship with discipline, and an understanding of mutual support. Finally, we discuss the importance of parenthood as a community experience, especially when parents get to share their challenges, questions, celebrations, and inspirations.
