Learning How to Let Go with Mark Leung
“I don’t need to check off ten different things today to be the perfect parent. Even if expectations are at an all-time high, reality will show that everything is trending positively. Let’s start with that healthy reality check and have that as our foundation.”
In this week’s episode of 2 Dads 1 Car, we speak with my dear friend and trusted partner, Mark Leung, a father of two young boys and man of many talents.
In our conversation, Mark and I focus on how to take a big picture approach to parenting. As we share stories about how easy it is to get caught up in the bad days and minutiae of caring for our children, Mark and I talk about the benefit of viewing parenthood as a marathon rather than an isolated moment. We also speak on the importance of being kind to yourself as a parent, especially as a way to maintain composure in moments of frustration. Finally, Mark and I talk about the different ways in which we try to set our children up for success in the future, and the power of faith—in ourselves and our children—in establishing meaningful relationships of trust in our family.
Thanks so much to Mark for taking the time to share with us! Please check out our website at 2dads1car.com, and follow us on Instagram @2dads1car for the latest updates. Please also check out Mark and my episode of the FACL BC Podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcast. I hope you love this episode!
